Pricing and Policies for Private Lessons
Monthly Tuition
$130 per month for 30-minute lessons
$250 per month for 60-minute lessons
Tuition includes all lessons (at least 36 lessons each nine-month school year). Tuition payments are due by the 7th of each month. Payments may be made via Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, check, or cash. We are an Epic Charter Schools vendor and learning funds may be used for monthly tuition. Payment after the 7th results in a $10 late fee payable by cash only. Please make all checks out to Alma Music Studio.
Fees
$25 registration fee for new students - required to secure your spot
$60 yearly supply fee - due in August in lieu of tuition
Fees must be paid out of pocket - not eligible for Epic learning fund payments.
Missed lessons
If you will miss a scheduled lesson, please give 24 hours notice if possible. Refunds are not given for missed lessons but you may schedule a makeup lesson if the schedule allows. If a lesson is missed without notice, you will be charged a $15 no show fee and no makeup will be scheduled. If a lesson is canceled by the teacher a makeup lesson is guaranteed.
Lesson materials
The $60 supply fee covers all lesson materials and music for the year.
Practice & Instruments
While weekly lessons are a wonderful experience and a lot of fun, practice at home is essential. Scheduling practice time everyday would be ideal but life is busy so aim for four days a week of quality practice time. We will address practice strategies in lessons and students will have assignments each week. Practicing can seem like a chore but parents can help make it fun! Here are some great practice tips from a piano parent.
Students must have daily access to an instrument appropriate for his or her studies:
Illnesses
We are never at our best when we don’t feel well and it is difficult to have a productive lesson when we are not at our best. If a student is ill, and particularly if a student is running a fever, please contact your teacher to reschedule the lesson. A good rule of thumb is to consider if you would want you or your child to be around someone exhibiting the same symptoms. You will never be penalized for missing a lesson due to illness.

Students must have daily access to an instrument appropriate for his or her studies:
- Voice: a simple keyboard instrument and a recording device for lessons
- Piano & College Prep: A piano is preferred but an electronic keyboard is sufficient if it has 88 full-size, weighted keys, a sustain pedal, and an adequate bench at the correct height for a healthy hand position. Learn more about choosing a piano keyboard for beginners.
- Adapted Lessons: Your instrument of choice (piano/keyboard or guitar)
