Pricing and Policies for Private Lessons
Monthly Tuition
$120 per month for 30-minute lessons (beginning students & adapted lessons)
$150 per month for 45-minute lessons (advanced students & college prep)
Tuition includes all lessons (at least 48 lessons each year), unlimited makeup lessons, and a satisfaction guarantee. Tuition payments are due by the 7th of each month. Payments may be made credit card, check, or cash. Payment after the 7th results in a $10 late fee payable by cash only. Tuition will be prorated for new students who start lessons after the first week of the month.
Missed lessons
If you will miss a scheduled lesson, please give 24 hours notice if possible. Refunds are not given for missed lessons but you may schedule a makeup lesson. If a lesson is missed without notice, you will be charged a $15 no show fee and no makeup will be scheduled.
Lesson materials
Students are responsible for purchasing lesson materials including method books and sheet music for special occasions when necessary. This will be the beginning of your music library! Please bring your lesson notebook (provided) and a pencil to every lesson.
Practice & Instruments
While weekly lessons are a wonderful experience and a lot of fun, practice at home is essential. Scheduling practice time everyday would be ideal but life is busy so aim for four days a week of quality practice time. We will address practice strategies in lessons and students will have assignments each week. Practicing can seem like a chore but parents can help make it fun!
Students must have daily access to an instrument appropriate for his or her studies:
Illnesses
We are never at our best when we don’t feel well and it is difficult to have a productive lesson when we are not at our best. If a student is ill, and particularly if a student is running a fever, please contact your teacher to reschedule the lesson. A good rule of thumb is to consider if you would want you or your child to be around someone exhibiting the same symptoms. You will never be penalized for missing a lesson due to illness.
